A Look Back

A year ago, we were in production, trying to make a 30-minute movie called Crime and Counterpoint. It was Spoon Gap Media's fourth attempt at a solo project (not in collaboration with other groups) and while it didn't have any dangerous stunts, explosions, or tricky camera angles, it was certainly our most ambitious project. For a bunch of students who had very little idea of what we were doing, it was pretty daunting.

Despite the difficulties, the film was finished, had a premiere, and while certainly not perfect, turned out very well. The dedication and hard work of the cast and crew paid off. In memory of this, here are a few Behind-the-Scenes photos.

Snow...

Yeah. Too much of it.

We weren't able to film the short movie, but hope to get together again in the summer.

Coming this weekend

We're making another movie!

This is just a short film, between 5 and 10 minutes, for our practice and edification. But, we will be getting the whole crew together, minus a person or two. We now have around 2 dozen crew members! Our goal is to do one or two short projects, in a process of gearing up for a bigger film Summer 2012.

So keep your eyes open, and this short film just may wind up on the internet somewhere...

In the Claw's Grasp

So, you're thinking, here's the new movie!

Not quite. Sorta, but not quite.

In the Claw's Grasp is being produced by Jacob and Josh Austin of Nobletin Productions. I am a co-producer and am scoring the film. We are working around the clock to get the film done...by next week!

Anyway, visit the website and check out the new trailer. www.clawmovie.com The film's not perfect, but if you like the look of it, pass the trailer along to your friends or put it on your blog. We can use all the prayer we can get too, as we bear down to meet the deadline.

By the way, if you're wondering why I'm posting this here, it's because I don't really have a Spoon Gap Media site running.

Until then.

Thoughts for Next Movie

Dear Readers,

Those of you who have been faithfully following the news on Crime and Counterpoint will now have a chance to give some input for our next film. It will probably be around the same time length as C&C, perhaps a bit longer.

Would you like to see more of:

a. Action
b. Comedy
c. Nostalgia
d. Other

As a heads up, if we do an action film, it will have doses of humor in it, with probably some sad moments sprinkled in. However the other two choices will most likely not have a lot of fast paced stuff going on. So it's not like it's an either or, but more of an emphasis.

Please respond in some detail with a comment.

Thanks!
